Expert review

Little Bear is a gentle and soothing Canadian animated series, adapted from the illustrated books by Maurice Sendak, following the quiet daily adventures of a curious and imaginative young bear in the forest, surrounded by animal friends and a warm, attentive family. Sensitive content is essentially absent: there is no violence, no fear, no inappropriate language, and no adult content of any kind. The entire series rests on a cozy and reassuring atmosphere, with mild storylines such as small misunderstandings between friends, brief and harmless separations, or the gentle surprise of discovering something new, never generating real anxiety. This series is ideal for very young children and can be watched with complete peace of mind from the earliest age, with or without parental supervision.

Synopsis

Follows a young bear as he goes on exciting adventures in the forest, gets into trouble and learns new things with his friends, including Emily, Duck, Hen, Cat, and Owl. His parents are Mother Bear, who is always there when he needs her, and Father Bear, a fisherman who is often at sea. Based on books by Else Holmelund Minarik.

Difficult scenes

In some episodes, Little Bear faces a small disappointment, such as a game not going as planned or a friend being unavailable. These moments are resolved quickly and warmly by adults or friends, and serve more as gentle life lessons about social interaction than as a source of worry.
